This slot is all about a road trip on Route 66, the famous highway much depicted in popular culture which runs the two and a half thousand miles between Chicago and California. This slot puts you in the driver’s seat of a classic red/orange Dodge as you drive from state to state, the majority of symbols representing the refreshments you’ll have on the way. There are also three human characters at the slot – the check shirted man who presumably works at the gas station, the blonde Stetson wearing waitress and the driver of the car who looks a lot like Brad Pitt.
The backdrop to the slot is the open road, the win line symbols on either side of the reels drawn in the style of yellow road signs. Above the reels the title is ed by the speedometer, which moves to high speed when achieving a win. This slot has a nice colourful feel and all of the symbols are relevant to the slot. The animation is good – the expanding wild seeing the classic Dodge driving along the open road, while the route 66 sign spins 360 degrees. The accompanying sound is a rock song and you can imagine cranking up the car stereo to hear it loud as you put your foot down on the pedal.

The main feature of the slot is the expanding wild. The wild symbol is the red/orange Dodge which only appears on reels 2 and 4. This slot by Saucify isn’t one that is particularly original and in comparison to many other slots, the lone expanding wild feature makes for a somewhat simplistic game. However, the slot has a nice feel about it – graphically it’s a good one, the wild animation giving the game something of a boost. Fans of slots where all of the action takes place on the reels will enjoy this game – the small number of win lines actually meaning you’ll see more spins for your money. No, it’s not a ground-breaking slot, but it has a certain charm about it and it’s one I would play again.
